Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians andmultidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families;supervisingassignedteammembers.

 

·       Collectscurrentsymptoms,aswellasadetailedpatienthistoryandthenconsultsandcoordinateswithhealthcareteammemberstoassess, plan, implementandevaluate patient careplans

·       Performstriage,whileconsideringbothphysicalandpsychosocialelements

·       Managesbasiclifesupportneedsandstabilizespatientsuntiltheattendingphysicianisavailable,baseduponnursingstandards andprotocol

·       AssistinvariousprocedureslikeIntubation,ChestTubeInsertion,InternalJugular,Ryle'sTubeinsertionandFoley'sCatheter Insertionetc.

·       Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverseSymptomatology

·       Recordspatients’currentvitalsigns

·       Preparethe patientforvariousinvestigationslikeX-ray, ECG,Ultrasound,MRIetc.

·       Worksdirectlyunderphysicians,assistingthemduringexams,diagnostictestingandtreatments

·       Preparesandadministers(orally,subcutaneously,throughan IV)andrecordsprescribedmedications.

·       Reportsadversereactionstomedicationsortreatmentsinaccordancewiththepolicyregardingtheadministrationofmedications bya licensed registerednurse

·       ProvidesIV therapy

·       Cleansandbandageswounds

·       Providesbasic,bedside care

·       Ensuresmoothfunctioningofadmission,dischargeandtransferproceduresandassistotherswithpatients’activitiesandcarewithcollaborativemanner.

·       Maintainspropersuppliesandappropriatemedicalequipmenttocareforpatients

·       Ensurestrictinfectioncontrolprotocolsandbio-wasteguidelines tobefollowedfor24x7

·       Ensure that all items used for patients inclusive of medications, surgical supplies are duly recorded andcharged.

·       Initiates patient education plan, as prescribed by physician. Teaches patients and significant others howto manage their illness/injury, by explaining: post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exerciseprograms, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation, as well as provides referrals to otherhealthcareprofessionalsfor follow-uptreatment
