Embryologist (mid level)

Job Summary

The Embryologist (Mid-Level) will perform core IVF and ART laboratory procedures with a high level of accuracy and adherence to quality standards. This role supports senior staff in ensuring excellent clinical outcomes and plays a key role in daily lab operations and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Technical

Perform routine and advanced ART procedures including:

o Semen analysis and preparation

o Oocyte identification and handling

o IVF and ICSI procedures

o Embryo culture, monitoring, and grading

o Embryo transfers (as per protocol)

o Vitrification and warming of embryos/oocytes

Assist in embryo selection and documentation.

Ensure optimal culture conditions for embryos.

Lab Operations & Quality

Follow SOPs and quality control protocols.

Maintain daily logs for:

o Media preparation

o Equipment checks

o Incubator monitoring

Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and traceability of samples.

Assist in audits and compliance activities (NABH/ICMR).

Team & Collaboration

Work closely with Senior Embryologists and clinicians.

Support junior staff and lab technicians when required.

Communicate effectively with nurses and counselors.

Patient Care & Ethics

Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical handling of samples.

Explain lab procedures to patients when required under supervision.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualification

M.Sc. in Clinical Embryology

Experience

minimum 2 years of experience in an IVF/ART laboratory.

Skills & Competencies

Strong technical skills in IVF lab procedures

High attention to detail and accuracy

Good documentation and compliance orientation

Team player with willingness to learn

Ability to work in shifts and high-pressure environments
