Job Description

About the Role

At Morphedo, Embedded Systems Engineers design and build the nervous system of mission-critical devices. You will architect complete embedded solutions where hardware and firmware operate seamlessly under unpredictable, unforgiving conditions.

From ICU wards with unstable electricity to high-altitude defence outposts and aerospace deployments, your systems must function with precision, resilience, and compliance.

This is not a narrow role. You will own the embedded stack end-to-end: PCB architecture, power systems, sensor integration, communication protocols, firmware development, validation, and regulatory alignment.

Problem Statements Youll Solve
  • How can we design a portable medical device that delivers accurate diagnostics despite voltage fluctuations and EMI-heavy environments?
  • How do we build soldier-worn embedded systems that guarantee 24/7 uptime in extreme temperature and pressure conditions?
  • How can ultra-low-power IoT devices operate reliably for years in remote municipal infrastructure?
  • How do we ensure seamless hardwarefirmware synchronization while meeting ISO, IEC, and MIL-STD requirements?
  • How can we ruggedize embedded electronics without compromising performance, size, or energy efficiency?

  • Key Responsibilities1. Embedded Hardware Architecture & Design
    • Design, prototype, and validate multi-layer PCBs for embedded and IoT systems.
    • Architect analog and digital subsystems including:
    • Power management circuits
    • Sensor front-end circuits
    • Communication interfaces
    • Signal conditioning and filtering
    • Select and qualify components for rugged, high-reliability environments.
    • Perform root-cause analysis of hardware failures and implement corrective measures.
    • Support EMI/EMC testing and certification processes.
    • Drive hardware ruggedization for aerospace and defence deployments.
    2. Embedded Firmware Development
    • Develop real-time firmware in C/C++ for ARM-based MCUs.
    • Work with RTOS-based architectures for deterministic, mission-critical systems.
    • Implement robust drivers for:
    • I2C, SPI, UART, CAN
    • BLE, LoRa, and other wireless protocols
    • Optimize firmware for ultra-low-power performance.
    • Conduct debugging, profiling, and system-level validation.
    • Ensure efficient memory and resource management in constrained environments.
    3. HardwareFirmware Integration
    • Lead board bring-up and hardwarefirmware synchronization.
    • Ensure signal integrity and accurate data acquisition.
    • Validate sensor integration and communication robustness.
    • Troubleshoot system-level issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.
    • Collaborate closely with mechanical and industrial design teams for enclosure constraints and thermal management.
    4. Testing, Validation & Compliance
    • Develop validation plans for embedded systems.
    • Ensure compliance with:
    • ISO and IEC standards (medical)
    • EMC/EMI regulations
    • MIL-STD requirements (defence/aerospace)
    • Maintain detailed documentation of design files, firmware revisions, testing procedures, and compliance records.
    • Participate in certification support activities.
    5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & R&D
    • Work with AI/ML teams for sensor-driven intelligence and edge processing.
    • Support production and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) alignment.
    • Contribute to feasibility studies and next-gen R&D proposals.
    • Continuously evaluate emerging components, tools, and design methodologies.
    Required Qualifications
    • B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or related field.
    • 25 years of hands-on experience in embedded hardware and firmware development.
    • Proficiency in:
    • PCB design tools (Altium, Eagle, KiCAD)
    • C/C++ programming for embedded systems
    • ARM-based microcontrollers
    • RTOS environments
    • Strong understanding of:
    • Communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, BLE, LoRa)
    • Power management design
    • EMI/EMC principles
    • Low-power system optimization
    • Experience using debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
    Preferred Experience (Good to Have)
    • Exposure to medical, aerospace, or defence-grade systems.
    • Experience in ruggedization techniques.
    • Familiarity with certification workflows.
    • Knowledge of secure boot, firmware encryption, or secure communication stacks.
    • Experience with edge AI or sensor fusion systems.
    Culture & Mindset
    • Research-driven engineer with strong curiosity for emerging technologies.
    • Detail-obsessed with a quality-first mindset.
    • Resilient in long R&D cycles with high uncertainty.
    • Strong ownership mindset with accountability for complete system performance.
    • Collaborative and aligned with a solve for Bharat mission.
    Why Join Morphedo?
    • Work on next-generation deep-tech innovations across aerospace, defence, medical, and energy domains.
    • Architect real-world mission systems, not just prototypes.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a cutting-edge R&D ecosystem.
    • Build products that directly impact healthcare, national security, and infrastructure.
    • Accelerate your growth in a fast-scaling deep-tech company.
