BloomRehab is a deep-tech startup on a mission to restore independence for neuro and ortho patients. Backed by Nikhil Kamaths WTFund, IIM Bangalores NSRCEL, and AssisTech (ATF), we build advanced rehabilitation robots that help people walk and move again. We are currently transitioning from lab-validated prototypes to market-ready medical devices.

Role Description :

This is a full-time on-site role in Bangalore for a Lead Embedded Engineer. You will be the "brain" behind our rehabilitation robots. This role requires a rare combination of hardware design and safety-critical firmware development. You will be responsible for designing medical-grade PCBs and writing bulletproof code for the STM32 ecosystem. Because our robots interact with patients, your code must be "fail-safe." Key requirements include comprehensive documentation, rigorous verification/validation, traceability from requirements to code, and strict change control as required by FDA software compliances.

Qualifications :

STM32 & HAL Mastery: Extensive experience in C/C++ development for STM32 microcontrollers using the HAL library.

PCB Design (KiCAD): Proficiency in designing multi-layer, high-density PCBs with a focus on signal integrity and low noise.

Communication Protocols: Experience working with of UART, I2C, SPI, and CAN protocols

Motor Control & Sensors: Experience with PWM, PID loops, and interfacing with high-precision encoders and torque sensors.

Fault-Tolerance: Ability to design hardware and software watchdogs, emergency stop logic, and "safe-state" recovery systems.

EMI/EMC Awareness: Understanding of design practices to meet medical-grade electromagnetic interference and compatibility standards.

Debugging & Tools: Mastery of logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.

Spin up quick Prototypes: Experience working with Esp32, Raspberry Pi, Arduino dev boards to test out prototypes quickly. Experience working with ESP-IDF is a plus.
