Role: Email Developer/Designer
Business Function: Sales & Marketing
Reports to Email Developer Team Leader

Nature and Purpose:
Driving global technical email functionality and development this role is responsible for designing and creating email marketing campaigns for
all global countries to maximise both email capabilities and support sales budget targets across the email channel. All emails will be
consistent with our brand and to a standard that exceeds the expectations of a global high service company.
Accountabilities with Key Outcomes: Describe essential accountabilities the job performs and key outcomes. Accountabilities should be listed
(max of 8) in order of importance.
1. Design and develop emails to plan and ensure all emails meet best practice for email design and are in line with global and supplier branding
requirements.
2. Develop a strong understanding of email technology including factors affecting delivery and rendering in email clients including mobile.
3. Advance our email features including dynamic content population and personalization. Stay current with best practices, strategies and
industry standards related to email.
4. Creating and maintaining global email campaigns within Marketo (current email marketing automation software solution) and other integrated
software solutions. Collaborate with agency partners and service providers to ensure optimised delivery and development of the email
channel. Perform email campaign-specific quality assurance testing.
5. Create and maintain email templates for all global countries, regionalising where necessary (language and culture), which maximise
engagement and drive process efficiencies where possible. Continually review and optimise email templates – reacting daily to user
behaviour through the use of analytics and A/B Testing.
6. Integration with email campaign specialists to execute the email marketing plan to achieve delivery of sales targets across the email channel
and associated campaigns. Promote best practice for email internally.
7. Monitor email KPIs and document results and deliver continuous improvements to our email programme.
8. Collaboration with marketing operations in alignment of activity, workflow and processes and that the agreed email marketing plans and off
plan email requests are developed, delivered, deployed and tracked effectively. In conjunction with marketing operations, management of
business process change within marketing and optimise ways of working. Monitoring performance within creative services and taking
corrective action and planning continuous improvement.

Essential
• Strong knowledge of email best practices such as technology, creative, templates, segmentation, dynamic content, testing methodologies.

• Proven experience in designing emarketing materials and end to end delivery of campaigns
• Experience coding HTML emails using tables and inline CSS styles
• Good understanding of data manipulation (CSV files)
• Experience in using third party email packages (including email delivery systems such as Marketo, Email on Acid or similar)
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop etc), Excel and Word
• Previous experience in interactive design, web and front-end development
• Ability to learn technical systems and in-house tools quickly
• Organisational and time management skills
• Creativity
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to self motivate and work to deadlines
• Excellent written and spoken English
