Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in power systems, offshore operations, and asset integrity? As part of our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) organization, we are looking to onboard a highly capable Electrical Engineer to join our team of discipline engineers. This role operates within a matrix organization, supporting multiple contracted assets and brownfield projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory, company, and international standards.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will:
- Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to HSSE, ensuring safe work practices at all times.
- Provide electrical engineering design and technical input to O&M activities and asset integrity management.
- Prepare, review, and approve electrical and vendor design deliverables for plant modifications and brownfield projects.
- Ensure electrical systems and equipment operate within the design envelope and meet SCE performance standards.
- Serve as Barrier Owner for assigned electrical SCE elements and deliver verification through audits, including third-party audits.
- Participate in Operations Risk Assessments, HAZID, HAZOP, SAFOP, and other HSSE-related reviews.
- Support Management of Change (MoC) processes and review concession/deviation requests.
- Provide technical support to offshore and onshore operations teams, including inspection and repair of electrical systems.
- Support development of Operations Assurance Plans, including readiness for handover and commissioning of newly contracted assets.
- Review lessons learned and incorporate improvements into design and operational practices.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Prepare scopes of work and manage interfaces with engineering consultants and EPC contractors.
- Monitor progress of design deliverables and propose corrective actions to mitigate schedule risks.
- Assist with development of operating and maintenance procedures for electrical equipment.
- Prepare technical and progress reports to support management decision-making.
- Participate in procurement activities including ITT preparation, technical bid evaluation, and vendor prequalification.
- Conduct periodic competence assessments of Site Responsible Person Electrical (RPE).
- Support bids for new projects and operating assets.
- Undertake offshore travel and asset support as per assigned rotations.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
- Strong capability in functional assurance, risk assessment, and problem-solving.
Experience
- 1215 years of experience in electrical and power systems design within the oil & gas industry.
- Prior experience with an Engineering Consultancy or EPC organization is mandatory.
- Experience working with an Oil & Gas Operating Company is a significant advantage.
- Offshore FPSO or platform O&M experience is highly desirable.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of international codes and standards for power systems, relay protection, and electrical equipment (MV & LV).
- Expertise in medium voltage power generation, distribution, power management, and load shedding systems.
- Familiarity with hazardous area equipment and standards (IEC 60079, ATEX).
- Good understanding of multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and industry best practices.
- Experience with ETAP, EDSA, LUXICON, or similar electrical design software is an added advantage.
