Electrical Design Engineer (Solar PV)

Experience

1. Experience of 2-5 years in designing ground mount projects of any size.
2. Experience in AutoCAD or Excel for preparation of drawings and documents.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in the design and development of electrical engineering projects related to solar PV systems, including PV array layout, electrical single-line diagrams, equipment and system sizing.
2. Support the preparation of design documents, such as drawings, specifications, and reports, in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, structural engineers, and construction managers to develop comprehensive project designs.
4. Conduct site visits and field investigations under the guidance of senior engineers to gather necessary data for design and analysis.
5. Participate in design reviews and project meetings, contributing ideas and solutions to technical challenges.
6. Continuously develop technical and professional skills through on-the-job training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.

Software Skills

1. Proficient in AutoCAD and/or other electrical design software for the design and drafting of electrical engineering projects.
2. Familiarity with solar PV design software, such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or equivalent.
3. Basic knowledge of power system analysis software, such as ETAP or equivalent, is a plus.
4. Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for documentation and communication.
5. Familiarity with any sub-station design software is a plus.

Technical Skills

1. Bachelor's or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
2. Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including power systems, electrical circuits, and renewable energy systems.
3. Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations, such as IS, IEEE, and local codes.
4. Coursework or experience in Solar PV systems, generation system or transmission systems is a plus.
5. Knowledge of renewable energy systems is desirable.
