Electrical Design Engineer

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to be a part of the team to prepare design, analysis, and implementation of end-to-end power distribution systems for buildings and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT) power supply, including substations, transformers, switchgear, and electrical distribution networks.

This role requires a deep understanding of electrical codes, energy efficiency, and safety standards, along with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality electrical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design and development of power distribution systems for buildings and infrastructure projects.

Design HT/ LT electrical networks, substations, transformers, switchgear, cabling & earthing.

Load calculations, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop analysis to optimize power systems.

Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), power system studies, and protection coordination.

Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, IEEE, IS codes).

Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and mechanical engineers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into building and infrastructure projects.

Work closely with utility companies, local authorities, and vendors for power supply approvals and integration.

Assist in the preparation of technical specifications, tender documents, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities).

Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems at project sites.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electrical distribution and power supply systems.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, power quality standards, and environmental norms.

Implement protective relaying schemes for HT & LT networks to ensure system reliability.

Conduct risk assessments and ensure power system stability and fault management.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

5+ years of experience in electrical power distribution system design for buildings and infrastructure.

Strong knowledge of HT (11kV, 33kV, 66kV, or higher) and LT (415V, 230V) power systems.

Experience with power system analysis software (ETAP, DIgSILENT, SKM, etc.).

Familiarity with SCADA, automation, and power monitoring systems.

Expertise in transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protection systems.

Proficiency in electrical design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM.

Strong understanding of energy efficiency, renewable integration, and smart grids.

Excellent problem-solving skills, leadership abilities, and communication skills.

MUST BE A RESIDENT OF MUMBAI OR MMR REGION

Preferred Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):

Masters degree in Electrical Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) / Chartered Engineer (CEng)

Certified Energy Manager (CEM)

LEED Certification (for energy-efficient projects)

Electrical Safety Certifications
