EHV Substation Design Engineer / Manager

Responsible for designing of EHV substation (Electrical & Civil part) for International projects.

Substation Design (Electrical)

Preparation of SLD/Protection SLD, Layouts (Switchyard, Cable trench, Earthing, Lighting etc). Sizing Calculations (Earthing, Lightning etc.) for approval.

Selection and sizing of Cables, Preparation of Cable Philosophy for Cable Schedules and Cable Interconnection Chart. Developing Cable Routing and installation Layouts.

Earthing Design Calculation for main earth-mat of substation and generate earthing layouts and indicating equipment earthing.

Direct Stroke Lightning Protection calculation.

Active involvement in bid stage evaluation for all major equipments, participation in technical discussion with various vendors (pre bid & post Bid)

LV power Cable Sizing & Voltage drop calculations.

Review of major vendor drawings like Generator Transformer, LT Switchgear, HT Switchgear, Battery/Battery Charger and major Switchyard equipments like CT/CVT,CB, Isolator/Earth switch

Review of Relay Protection Schemes for 400 kV Substation as per customer specification.

Technical Review of SAS Drawings such as System Architecture, FDS,I/O List according to specifications

Substation Design (Civil)

• Designing of Substation Civil & Steel structure for tender as per specification requirements
• Designing of Substation Civil & Steel structure for project work as per specification requirement
• Checking of Substation structural steel design and civil design received from design vendors
• Checking of Fabrication drawings
• Checking of BOI items received from procurement division
• Co-ordination with client, consultant, site office and sub-contractors related to design issues
• Support to Costing team for Tenders

BE / B Tech / Diploma in Electrical or Civil Engineering with 3-10 yrs of experience into designing f Substations is must
