  • Drive safety improvements tied to productivity goals as the gearbox plant scales up.

Tooling Design & Safety

  • Work with tooling and engineering teams to ensure jigs, fixtures, lifting devices and custom tools meet company's safety standards.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and implement engineering corrections.
  • Manage inspection, certification and preventive maintenance for tooling equipment.

Testing Operations Oversight

  • Lead EHS oversight in gearbox testing facilities involving load/no-load testing, vibration analysis, lubrication testing and high-speed rotational machinery.
  • Ensure all guarding, interlocks, emergency shutdown systems and monitoring controls are in place.
  • Analyse test anomalies and propose preventive actions.

Process Improvement

  • Identify process risks and drive improvements through engineering controls and lean principles.
  • Review safety requirements for localisation, new equipment, layout expansion and upcoming plants.
  • Partner with Operations and Industrial Engineering to embed safety into productivity improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering and Maintenance teams.
  • Align safety standards with global drivetrain and EHS teams in China and Europe.
  • Provide structured reporting on safety performance and improvement plans.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety or related field.

  • Strong knowledge of Indian EHS regulations and global standards.
  • Experience with rotating machinery, heavy lifting and assembly environments preferred.
  • NEBOSH / IOSH certification preferred.
  • Experience in developing and implementing EHS policies and procedures
  • Strong stakeholder management and proven ability to work within a fast-paced matrix structure.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and mentor a team
