Job Description

Pegasus is one of Indias most established childrens publishing and play brands, with a fast-growing digital and D2C presence. Our ecosystem spans books, puzzles, games, and learning experiences, built around a clear belief: childhood should be screen-free, thoughtful, and meaningful .


We sell across Amazon India, Amazon US, FirstCry, and our own D2C platform (pegasusforkids.com) , supported by in-house performance marketing and cataloguing teams. We are now looking for a strong leader to own and scale this vertical.


We are hiring a Head E-Commerce & Marketplaces to own revenue, growth, and execution across all online channels .

This is a business leadership role , not an execution-only position.

You will:

  • Own channel performance
  • Lead internal teams
  • Drive structured growth
  • Bring predictability, discipline, and scale to our online business


Operations and warehousing are managed by a separate team, but you are expected to understand operations deeply enough to forecast, plan, and scale responsibly .


Key Responsibilities


1. Channel Ownership & Growth

  • Full P&L ownership of:
  • Amazon India
  • Amazon US
  • FirstCry
  • Pegasusforkids.com (D2C Shopify)
  • Drive topline growth while maintaining contribution margins
  • Build clear growth roadmaps per channel (not one-size-fits-all)


2. Marketplace Strategy & Execution

  • Amazon expertise is non-negotiable:
  • Ads strategy alignment with performance team
  • Deal planning, Prime events, seasonal pushes
  • Keyword, category, and portfolio optimisation
  • Scale Amazon US with a long-term view (catalogue, reviews, compliance, logistics awareness)
  • Manage FirstCry as a strategic institutional channel, not just a dumping ground


3. D2C Leadership (pegasusforkids.com)

Own conversion, AOV, repeat rate, and retention

Work closely with:

  • Performance marketing team
  • Catalogue/content team
  • CRM & lifecycle marketing (email, WhatsApp, loyalty)

Turn D2C into a brand-building and data-owning engine , not just another sales channel


4. Team Leadership

Lead and manage:

  • Performance marketing team (strategy alignment, not execution overlap)
  • Catalogue & listing team

Set KPIs, dashboards, weekly rhythms, and accountability

Build a culture of ownership and clarity, not firefighting


5. Business & Data Orientation

Forecast demand and growth in sync with operations and finance

Track:

  • Channel-wise profitability
  • CAC, ROAS, contribution margins
  • Inventory velocity and sell-through logic

Identify early signals before problems show up in revenue


What Were Looking For


Must-Have Experience

812+ years in e-commerce / marketplaces

Proven experience owning Amazon India at scale

Exposure to Amazon US or international marketplaces

Hands-on experience managing D2C (Shopify preferred)

Prior experience leading teams (not individual contributor mindset)


Skill & Mindset

Commercially sharp, numbers-driven

Understands how ads, catalogue, pricing, and ops connect

Structured thinker, not reactive

Comfortable working with founders and senior leadership

Long-term builder, not just campaign-to-campaign executor
