Ecommerce Finance Manager / Controller

Role Description

We are looking for a highly capable, process-driven Finance Manager to build and lead a robust, accurate, and scalable financial reporting and control system with experience in Ecommerce.

This role will own MIS design, revenue and expense reporting, inventory controls, reconciliations, month-end closures, and financial governancecreating a clean, standardized, and automated finance backbone for the organization.

The ideal candidate will drive operational discipline, implement strong financial controls, and ensure adherence to SOPs while building systems that are scalable and independent of individuals.

Key Responsibilities

1. MIS & Financial Reporting

Design and implement a structured MIS framework across the organization.

Deliver timely and accurate daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.

Standardize reporting formats across departments.

Build dashboards covering revenue, profitability, expenses, cash flow, inventory, and working capital.

2. Revenue Reporting & Reconciliations

Own channel-wise revenue reporting (Website, Amazon, marketplaces, quick commerce, offline).

Lead reconciliation of payments, returns, commissions, GST, TCS, settlements, and claims.

Implement automation and validation checks.

Build daily, weekly, and monthly closure SOPs.

Ensure zero revenue leakage.

3. Expense & Cost Control

Develop structured expense classification and cost allocation frameworks.

Track operating expenses, marketing spends, overheads, and variances.

Partner with marketing, procurement, and operations for accurate cost mapping.

Drive cost visibility and margin tracking at SKU/channel level.

4. Inventory & Stock Reporting

Implement weekly and monthly inventory MIS.

Oversee stock valuation, ageing, costing, and reconciliations.

Ensure accurate procurement-to-warehouse-to-sale tracking.

Work closely with operations to reduce dead stock and improve inventory turns.

5. Month-End Closing & Controls

Drive disciplined and timely month-end closure cycles.

Implement strong financial controls and documentation processes.

Strengthen working capital visibility across cash, receivables, payables, and inventory.

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

6. Process Creation & Automation

Build scalable SOPs across finance workflows.

Identify and implement automation opportunities (Tally, API integrations, Google Sheets automation, dashboards).

Create systems that are structured, transparent, and independent of individuals.

Requirements

CA / MBA (Finance) / M.Com with strong MIS and reporting experience.

48 years of experience in finance operations, reporting, or controllership roles.

Strong command over Tally, Excel/Google Sheets, reconciliations, and financial modeling.

Experience in D2C, retail, ecommerce, or FMCG is preferred.

Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Proven team management and leadership capability.

Process-driven and automation-oriented.
