Job Description

Job Summary:

  • Perform FEA, Dynamics, NVH, Durability simulations of Chassis systems.
  • Build, assemble, analyze and validate complete vehicle and system level finite element models.
  • Assess structural & fatigue requirements for chassis & suspension, using latest CAE methods & tools.
  • Develop & optimize suspension & chassis structures to meet requirements.
  • Develop CAE modeling methods, requirements & perform correlation studies with physical test data.
  • Develop process improvements to enable faster, enhanced, more robust analysis to be performed.
  • Work collaboratively in the CAE and advanced Design team to deliver robust design solutions.
  • Design and develop new concepts and simulation technologies for ePowertrain application for high voltage EV application
  • Ensure all design schedules are accomplished inclusive of providing regular project status updates to all project engineers.
  • Develop and maintain Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R.)
  • Perform & execute root cause analysis to solve the design & field failure related problem
  • Support vehicle launches on-site and be able troubleshoot concerns using calibration & diagnostic tools
  • Monitor and respond to quality indicators and warranty trends to perform root cause analysis.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform & guide various types of simulation used for chassis component level & system level to build first time right proto
  • Responsible for weight & cost optimization at component & system level through simulation without affecting performance, efficiency, range & component life
  • Develop simulation & optimization strategy for EV application
  • Support current model production / design problem solving cross-functional teams to achieve warranty, Cost, and customer satisfaction metrics.


Key Skills Required:

  • Very good hands on experience in various simulation tools on CAE, NVH, Durability for chassis system
  • Thorough understanding of finite element analysis. MUST have hands-on experience with solvers such as ABAQUS and OPTISTRUCT. Pre- and post-processing tools like HYPERMESH and HYPERVIEW. Fatigue tools such as NCODE DesignLife and Hyperlife.
  • Experience with Optimisation & DoE toolsets such as Optistruct, Isight, Hyperstudy etc. preferable.
  • Working with both metallic and composite structures.
  • Demonstrates high levels of personal motivation to join a start-up organization and sees development opportunity in doing so, takes a proactive approach to self-development.

  • In-depth knowledge of design, optimization, Integration & first time right proto development through simulation.
  • Extensive and demonstrable experience


Software Tools:

  • Basics theory: FEA, NVH, Dynamics, Durability/Fatigue
  • Pre & Post processing: Hypermesh/optistruct/Hyperview
  • Optimization: Optistruct/Hyperstudy
  • Nonlinear: ABAQUS
  • NVH-Optistruct/LMS virtual lab
  • Durability/Fatigue: Optistruct-Hyperlife/Nastran/ncode/Femfat/patran
  • Scripting : TCL/tk /Matlab/Python/VB scripts-Excel etc


Experience Range - 10+ years of experience in automotive chassis simulation at system level.

Qualification - BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechatronics/Automobile/Mechanical Engineering
