About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a DSS Finance Insights Center Solution Specialist! This position can be located in Midland (MI, USA), Houston (TX, USA) or Mumbai (IND).

In this role, you will be responsible for working through the entire development life cycle, from design to deployment of digital solutions within Finance. Your primary focus will be on utilizing the latest technologies to create innovative and efficient software solutions that meet the needs of our stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to the functional side of finance by working closely with Business Process Experts (BPX's), Subject Matter Experts (SME's), and other stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements. This collaboration will allow you to expand your knowledge of Finance and gain a deeper understanding of how your solutions can best support the Finance function.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience in .NET development, demonstrating a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions. You should possess a deep understanding of software development best practices and excel in collaborative team environments. Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools like UiPath is highly desirable and will be considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary developer for key Finance solutions, such as the Manual Journal Entry Management Tool.
  • Work closely with a variety of stakeholders to analyze and break down requirements into small, simple, workable deliverables.
  • Develop scalable solutions using tools like Angular, C#, .Net, MS SQL Server, and other open stack frameworks.
  • Work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Design, implement, and deliver to production complete end-to-end fully functional solutions.
  • Revise, update, refactor, and debug code.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in software development.
  • Contribute to AI-driven projects within Finance, applying advanced AI tools and techniques to enhance financial processes, improve decision-making, and drive strategic insights.
  • Leverage RPA tools like UiPath to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
  • A minimum of 3 years of software development experience.
  • For US Applicants: A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Your Skills

  • General knowledge of coding design patterns.
  • Experience with MS Power Platform is advantageous.
  • Coding Languages: Familiarity with one of the coding languages (C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript).
  • Microsoft Azure: Experience or knowledge of the Azure Cloud Platform.
  • Agile Methodology: Basic knowledge and experience in Agile software development methodologies and work processes, especially Scrum.
  • Software Frameworks: Familiarity with code and frameworks from recent developments: C#, .Net Core, Angular, TypeScript, HTML5/CSS.
  • Microsoft SQL Server: Notable experience with database programming using Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with customers regarding technical issues and scenarios, while effectively translating business context into technical language.
  • RPA/UiPath: Interest in RPA and experience with UiPath are strong assets.
