Drone Flight Test Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on and driven Drone Flight Test Engineer to support the development, rapid prototyping, testing, and validation of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). This role requires strong field involvement, practical troubleshooting skills, and close collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to iterate quickly on drone platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute UAV flight test campaigns in field environments.
• Develop test plans, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
• Perform pre-flight checks, system validation, and post-flight inspections.
• Fly and operate UAVs during test missions and field trials.
• Monitor flight performance, stability, endurance, and payload functionality.
• Support field deployments and customer demonstrations when required.

• Support airframe development, structural modifications, and payload integration.
• Assist in rapid prototyping, fabrication, and assembly of UAV components.
• Work with materials such as carbon fiber, composites, aluminum, and 3D-printed parts.
• Support propulsion integration (motors, ESCs, propellers, batteries).
• Collaborate closely with the mechanical team during airframe iteration cycles.

• Integrate autopilot systems (ArduPilot, Betaflight, etc.) and configure flight controllers.
• Support integration, wiring, testing of indigenous avionics
• Diagnose and resolve hardware/software integration issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis for flight failures or performance issues.

• Collect and analyze flight logs and telemetry data.
• Evaluate system performance against mission requirements.
• Prepare concise test reports and engineering documentation.

• Ensure safe flight operations and compliance to operational checklist.
• Maintain documentation required for analysis, approvals and certifications.
