Draughtsman Renewable Energy (Civil / Electrical) Job Description

Role Overview

The Draughtsman will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings for renewable energy projects including Solar (Ground Mount / Rooftop / Floating), Wind, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), and Substation works. The role involves close coordination with Civil and Electrical design teams to develop accurate construction drawings, layouts, and as-built documentation.

• Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings, layouts, and schematics as per engineering inputs.
• Develop and modify drawings for civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical works (as applicable to project scope).
• Prepare GA (General Arrangement) drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, project teams, and site personnel for drawing clarifications and revisions.
• Maintain proper version control and documentation of drawings.
• Support site teams with drawings, BOQs, and revisions during execution.
• Incorporate comments received from consultants, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure timely delivery of drawings as per project schedules.

• Required Skills & Qualifications Diploma / ITI / Certification in Draftsmanship, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• 15 years of relevant drafting experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)
• . Good understanding of technical drawings and symbols.
• Basic knowledge of BOQ and material take-offs is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret engineering concepts and translate them into drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Preferred Skills
• Experience in renewable energy, solar, EPC, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D tools will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with site coordination and execution drawings.
