Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
Software Development for Mining Applications
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for underground mining operations, focusing on planning, drilling, and reporting functionalities.
- Implement features such as drill plan generation, 3D visualization of tunnels, charge and ignition plans, and integration with rig control systems (e.g., via USB/WiFi using IREDES format).
Data Handling & Integration
- Enable reliable data transfer between rigs and central systems.
- Ensure compatibility with formats like CAD (.dxf) and integration with platforms such as My Epiroc.
User Interface & Experience
- Develop intuitive user interfaces for operators and planners.
- Build dashboards for drill plans, maintenance checklists, and operational KPIs.
System Reliability & Security
- Ensure robust system performance under harsh underground conditions.
- Implement secure data handling practices.
Technical Skills:
- Desktop Development: C#/.NET Framework, WPF, WinForms.
- Web Development: JavaScript/TypeScript, React.js (frontend), C#/.NET (backend).
- Cloud: Responsive UI design, modern web standards, cloud deployment knowledge (Azure preferred).
- Mining Software & Standards: Familiarity with mining-specific protocols (e.g., IREDES), CAD tools, and drill plan management systems.
- Database & Data Processing: SQL databases and handling large operational datasets for analytics.
- Integration & APIs: RESTful API integrations and ability to integrate with Epiroc data sources.
- Version Control & SDLC: Agile methodologies, SDLC, and version control systems (Git).
Domain Knowledge:
- Understanding of underground mining operations, drilling processes, mine planning, and safety protocols.
- Knowledge of automation features for loaders, trucks, and drilling rigs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Mining Engineering background is a plus).
- Experience:
- 35 years of software development experience, preferably in industrial or mining applications.
- Exposure to geospatial or simulation software is advantageous.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, especially in simulation and 3D domains.
- Effective communication and collaboration with geologists, engineers, and operations teams.
- Ability to work in cross-functional, global Agile teams, including coordination with Epiroc teams across regions.
