Your day at NTT DATA

The Security Managed Services Engineer (L3) is a seasoned engineering role, responsible for providing a service to clients by proactively identifying and resolving technical incidents and problems.

Through pre-emptive service incident and resolution activities, as well as product reviews, operational improvements, operational practices, and quality assurance this role will maintain a high level of service to clients.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure zero missed service level agreement (SLA) conditions and is responsible for managing tickets of high complexity, conducts advanced and complicated tasks, aware of client's high level and low-level security architecture and provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems.

This position uses considerable judgment and independent analysis within defined policies and practices and applies analytical thinking and deep technical expertise in achieving client outcomes, while coaching and mentoring junior team members across functions.

The Security Managed Services Engineer (L3) may also contribute to / support on project work as and when required.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • DLP Solution Implementation:
    • Install, configure, and maintain DLP solutions (e.g., Symantec DLP, McAfee DLP, Digital Guardian, etc.).
    • Implement DLP policies to prevent unauthorized access or leakage of sensitive data, both internally and externally.
  • Policy Creation and Maintenance:
    • Develop, implement, and review data protection policies and controls to safeguard data in compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
    • Adjust and fine-tune DLP policies to minimize false positives and ensure appropriate enforcement.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor DLP events and incidents using DLP management consoles.
    • Investigate and respond to potential data leakage or security breaches in real-time.
    • Generate and review detailed reports on data loss incidents, breaches, and policy violations, and provide recommendations for remediation.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work with other IT and security teams (e.g., network security, endpoint security, incident response) to ensure a unified approach to data protection.
    • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure that DLP policies align with industry regulations and organizational standards.
  • Incident Management:
    • Investigate potential security incidents involving sensitive data, including identifying the cause of leaks and advising on corrective measures.
    • Maintain documentation and reports of security incidents and violations for compliance audits.
  • User Awareness and Training:
    • Conduct training for staff on DLP policies and the importance of safeguarding sensitive data.
    • Provide guidance on best practices for data handling, encryption, and data protection.
  • DLP Solution Optimization:
    • Evaluate and recommend improvements to DLP policies and configurations to enhance data protection and minimize business risk.
    • Participate in upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations for DLP tools.
  • Compliance and Auditing:
    • Ensure the organization complies with relevant data protection laws and industry standards.
    • Assist in preparing for audits by providing necessary DLP-related documentation and reports.


Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in IT/Computing (or demonstrated equivalent work experience)
