POSITION TITLE:Director (Southern India), USISPF


LOCATION:Bengaluru, Karnataka

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

A seniorleadership role structured to build and grow the presence of a highly dynamic, fast paced organization in key states of Karantaka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.


The candidate must have demonstrated track record in building organizational capability, driving growth and brand value, and the ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders spanning senior government leaders to bureaucracy to business leaders as well as community partners.


This position reports to the Managing Director of USISPF India.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:


  • Build a brand presence in the key Southern states.
  • Engage and deepen partnerships with the state government stakeholders, U.S. and other key Consulates, regulators, and policy institutions in the region.
  • Have a regular interface with industry members of the Forum based in the region.
  • Track policy and regulatory developments in southern region and build a capability for action oriented advocacy.
  • Build and institutionalize strategic partnerships in the region.
  • Engage with business leaders and create a local network.
  • Create strategic programming - with local governments/ policy/ geopolitical dialogues/ CXO programs etc. to support and grow regional engagement.
  • Grow USISPF membership base through connecting with new companies and industry leaders based in the region.
  • Represent USISPF in public forums & industry discussions.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • 15 - 20years of experience
  • Strong understanding of India, especially the business andGovernmentecoystem and stakeholders across the Southern states.
  • Experience of working with government agencies, think tanks, or multinational technology companies is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience instakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Masters degree inpublic policy, international relations, technology policy, law, economics, or a related field ispreferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Highly effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at highest corporate, political and educational institution levels.
  • Ability to maintain the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality and integrity, with a strong professional reputation in the industry.
  • Self-starter with proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across an organization and cultures as well as working independently.
  • Ability to identify and understand key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations in legislative and regulatory proposals.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others as required.
  • Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills, and political acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships and networks with others.
