Job Description
What you'll be doing:
Over the last 3 years, work has been undertaken to build out common a GRC system across LSEG with the following key goals:
- Access complete, accurate, timely and insightful risk information Utilise common data, reporting and analytical capabilities across the group, including the first line
- Introduce proper workflow tools that speed up decision-making and improve control
- Reduce the time spent aggregating information from disparate sources
- Use of advanced technology to highlight issues automatically, rather than relying on manual review
- Increase engagement with the GRC system by making this more user friendly
This role will be responsible for leading the continued build out and embedding of this system including:
- Overall management of the continued build, maintenance and enhancement of the GRC system, working with both internal and external systems.
- Provide directional leadership and management to resources focused on the development and build out of the GRC systems, ensuring the right operating models are in place with internal Risk and Engineering colleagues as well as external partners.
- Drive adoption of the GRC system across LSEG through enhancements to the usability of the system and related communications and training.
- Play a key supporting role, working with other senior Risk and 1LOD stakeholders, to drive improved data quality and support a shift towards data driven risk management, advocating and driving the Risk function’s use of data and technology to achieve more effective outcomes.
- Maintain strong partnerships across all three lines of defence and key external stakeholders (e.g. GRC system provider) so that the system continues to align with business needs and the evolving risk and control frameworks.
- Play a leadership role, as a member of the Risk Leadership Forum (the Risk function’s extended leadership), acting a key advisor and SME for Risk colleagues and playing an enabling role to support effective risk management.
You'll bring:
- Proven track record in a successful senior operational / strategic role, in a leading financial services or technology firm driving best in class practice.
- Expert knowledge of GRC systems and the necessary supporting components with strong demonstrated experience within the financial services industry
- Credibility and expertise to influence at the senior management level.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility, expertise and gravitas to influence at the senior management level.
- Strong capability in leading teams, ideally within both direct reporting lines and matrix structures.
- Demonstrable operating skills with the ability to roll up sleeves to deliver if required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide simple explanations of complex problems.
- Sound judgement with experience of balancing competing factors to deliver optimal outcomes.
- Openness and willingness to test and adopt new processes / approaches / ways of working
