Director, Product Engineering

Work Location:  Chennai (open to Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, NCR)

Work Arrangement: Requires a minimum of 9 working days per month from the Chennai office, with the remaining days flexible to be worked from any of the other listed locations.

About the Job:

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Product Engineering to lead the strategic direction, architecture, and execution of our product engineering organization. This role is responsible for driving innovation, scaling technology platforms, and integrating AI/ML capabilities to deliver intelligent, customer-centric products. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with a strong technical foundation, product mindset, and proven experience in building high-performing engineering teams.

What will you do:

• Support the execution of the vision and roadmap for the Product Engineering organization, ensuring alignment with business goals for high-quality product development and maintenance. 
• Contribute to the long-term technology strategy in alignment with business and product goals.
• Collaborate on the product engineering roadmap with Product and Design leadership.
• Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance platforms using modern cloud-native principles.
• Lead product design governance and ensure consistency, usability, and technical excellence.
• Champion the integration of AI/ML into product features to drive automation and personalization.
• Partner with Data Science teams to operationalize ML models and ensure responsible AI practices.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Establish and monitor engineering KPIs for velocity, quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Marketing, and Customer Success teams.
• Represent engineering in senior leadership forums, providing updates on progress and aligning with strategic goals.
• Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the engineering organization.

Who are you:

·       Product Engineering leader with 18+ years of experience in the software industry, preferably from the Healthcare Domain

·       Agile leader. Hands on people management. Be the coach and leader for the team and delivery.

·       Passion to conceive, design and implement innovative products.

·       Solve integration problems of the product.

·       Product delivery management experience, preferably large engagements

·       Ensure high utilization, and healthy profit margins.

·       Identify potential risks and issues in product implementation, services, and solutions.

Education:

·       Bachelor’s Degree/master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related area, or equivalent experience, desired.

Tech Skills: 

·       Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), microservices architecture, and containerization

·       Have worked on cloud native applications using AWS/Azure.  

·       Agile methodology and Engineering principles for application delivery.
