Join the Regional Asia Pacific (AP) Outcome Research team and work with a team of regional experts to primarily support the key therapeutic areas. Under the guidance of the OR AP Lead, you will support the interpretation and translation of -integrated evidence strategies developed at the global level for adaptation by AP markets.
Role Overview:
You will join the Value & Implementation Outcomes Research (V&I OR) regional team and focus in the area of expertise. You will have the responsibility of supporting the interpretation and translation of V&I OR integrated evidence strategies for products developed at the global level to company’s affiliates. The scope of this support will include National Immunization Program (NIP)/Health Technology Assessment (HTA)/reimbursement dossier submission and overall Real World Evidence strategies: tailoring these global strategies to the country strategies in the region. This process includes tight alignment with the global V&I strategy and plans for the therapeutic area, as well as having a high-level awareness of the setting and challenges. A close collaboration with regional above-markets teams including Medical Affairs, Access & Pricing, Commercial, and Policy & Communications is required to ensure consistency and alignment with strategies. Another focus will be to collaborate with markets to identify evidence gaps as well as how to support the value discussion, and address these from the Health Economic and Outcomes Research (HEOR) perspective, including leading non-interventional studies and supporting development of meaningful tools and arguments addressing discussion and interaction with stakeholders, including HTA/reimbursement agencies, National Treatment/Immunization Programs and Advisory Groups , payers, policymakers, health systems and clinicians at country and regional level.
The role involves interactions with country affiliates to have an understanding of country-specific NIP/HTA/reimbursement needs and to support timely and efficient NIP/HTA/reimbursement submission, including support country specific adaptation of the global cost-effectiveness (CE) and budget impact (BI) models. You should be able to work with local teams around HEOR strategy and support and train the teams in relation to local HEOR and Local Data Generation (LDG) study execution. Another important element is to support colleagues as well as local thought leaders/researchers to understand and utilize evidence in the areas of HTA, HEOR and RWE, enabling them to make correct interpretations of HEOR studies as well as how to interpret CE and BI analysis for health policy decision-making at various levels in healthcare systems.
Responsibilities and Primary Activities
Collaborate on V&I regional strategy and ensure excellence in execution of identified tactics for our products
Ensure that evidence generation strategy is implemented on a regional and supported on a local level, this also includes highlighting local needs, data gaps and insights to the global V&I OR strategy
Understanding of HTA and market access environment
Ensuring that V&I OR therapeutic area activities are optimized within region of job posting and actively communicate across functions to ensure efficiency in regard to alignment and optimal support
Providing scientific health economic and outcomes research support
Align V&I OR activities, including studies, models, publications, advice, to priorities for the markets– working in close collaboration with the above-market support teams in Market Access & Pricing, Medical Affairs, Policy & Communications and Marketing
Required Qualifications, Skills, & Experience
Minimum
A doctoral degree (M.D., Ph.D. or Pharm.D.) or MSc/MPH with equivalent work experience in health economics, epidemiology, outcomes research, health services research, public health management or related fields
A minimum of 5 years biotech/pharmaceutical HEOR experience, including market access experience, in the region/countries
Experience working within the applicable region/countries
Proven track record of success in executing HEOR strategies, including development and execution of RWE observational studies and health economic models, as demonstrated through peer-reviewed presentations and publications
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate functionally explicit information across a wide array of audiences, including scientific and commercial groups
Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills
Preferred
Experience in application of HEOR methods for applicable products
Experience in collaborating with external researcher teams, academic health centers, and contract research organizations, setting up and executing studies, and authoring presentations and publications
Experience with development of calculators/tools
Experience in working in the field/therapeutic area
Experience and success in leading projects and interacting with cross-functional teams
Experience working with health economic model adaptations
Documented communication skills focused on training/teaching in the areas of HTA, or and/or RWE
