Job Title: GM Visual Merchandising & Growth (National Role)
Location: Either Hyderabad OR Bengaluru
About the Company (Our client) and the Role: Indias leading pharmacy retail organisation (3000+ stores nationwide) is seeking a dynamic leader to drive its national visual merchandising and retail growth strategy. With 30+ years in the industry and a workforce of over 30,000, the company is committed to transforming customer experience and retail excellence at scale.
The GM Visual Merchandising & Growth position will lead the National VM strategy across 3000+ stores , elevating in-store experience, driving brand consistency, and enabling regional growth. This role partners closely with operations, category and FMCG teams to enhance store performance and contribute directly to FMCG P&L outcomes.
Key Requirements (to apply):
- About 4 - 6 years of experience in retail visual merchandising or retail transformation roles.
- Preferably an MBA from a Tier-1 B-School.
- Proven experience leading diverse teams across regions.
- Strong commercial mindset with analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Leadership
- Define and lead the national visual merchandising vision across categories and regions.
- Shape distinctive in-store environments to enhance customer experience and brand visibility.
- Align national brand and category initiatives into high-impact regional VM strategies.
Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with Regional Operations to deliver AOP targets across all regions.
- Ensure timely VM planning and execution for new store rollouts during rapid expansion phases.
- Supervise planograms, POS branding, display standards, seasonal campaigns and launch formats.
Growth & Analytics
- Use merchandising analytics to identify growth opportunities and guide store-level implementation.
- Drive FMCG-focused initiatives that influence P&L performance in collaboration with category teams.
Team & Process Leadership
- Lead and coach a distributed team of Regional VM Managers.
- Strengthen VM SOPs, capability development and on-ground execution quality.
- Benchmark and introduce best practices in global retail design, shopper behaviour and digital VM.
Budget Management
- Manage budgets for regional/national VM initiatives, ensuring cost-effective, scalable design execution.
