Director of Software Engineering

As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology team, you will promote innovation and data engineering solutions, leading a technical area and serving as primary decision maker for your teams. You will have the opportunity to create and maintain financial software applications, automate data collection, and develop budgeting and forecasting tools. This role provides a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with the CFO and financial team, translating their needs into technical solutions, providing technical support, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. 

Job responsibilities

• Leads data and process implementation teams to achieve functional technology objectives.
• Makes strategic decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the implementation of processes and procedures.
• Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations.
• Delivers data pipeline and architecture solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses.
• Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and data technology teams
• Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills.

• Formal training or certification in computer science/engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams of technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
• Experience developing and leading cross-functional teams of technologists.
• Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity of PySpark, DataBricks, Lake House architecture
• Cloud/AWS knowledge
