Sr. Director/ Director of Information Technology

vCampusIT is expanding, and were looking for a strategic leader at multiple locations to drive the future of our Infrastructure and NOC support.

Role Summary

The Sr. Director / Director of Information Technology will be responsible for leading the technology strategy, IT operations, project delivery, security posture, systems architecture, vendor partnerships, and internal/external IT support environments. This is a senior leadership position requiring strong execution capability, deep domain expertise, business acumen, and proven experience in scaling IT departments in high-growth environments.


Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute vCampusITs enterprise IT roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • Drive modernisation initiatives across infrastructure, security, data, applications, and cloud.
  • Lead innovation, automation, and adoption of emerging technologies to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Partner with senior leadership to shape technology-driven business outcomes.


IT Operations & Governance

  • Own full IT operations lifecycle -planning, budgeting, implementation, maintenance, and support.
  • Define and enforce IT policies, SOPs, SLAs, security standards, and compliance frameworks.
  • Oversee internal IT systems including networks, cloud platforms, security tools, hardware assets, storage, productivity apps, and collaboration systems.
  • Establish operational dashboards, reporting metrics, service analytics, and risk management controls.


Security & Compliance

  • Ensure robust cybersecurity architecture, threat intelligence posture, data protection, backup & DR.
  • Lead ISO, SOC, HIPAA, FERPA, PCI, and internal compliance and audit initiatives as required.
  • Create and maintain security incident response processes and business continuity plans.


Team Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and expand a high-performing IT engineering and support team.
  • Build culture, accountability, knowledge sharing, and clear stack ownership.
  • Manage internal and external IT stakeholders, consultants, and partners.


Project Delivery & Client Engagement

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure, cloud migration, cybersecurity, ERP, and managed service projects.
  • Support solution architecture, RFP responses, and technical proposals.
  • Collaborate with US clients and internal business teams to ensure high-quality delivery and customer excellence.


Vendor & Budget Management

  • Evaluate, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts for hardware, software, licenses, and services.
  • Own IT budgeting, forecasting, procurement planning, and cost optimisation initiatives.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience.
  • Proven success managing enterprise IT operations at scale.
  • Strong knowledge across:
  • IT infrastructure
  • Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Cybersecurity frameworks
  • Networking & systems architecture
  • ERP and enterprise applications
  • Helpdesk & NOC operations
  • Experience managing technology for multi-site, hybrid, or global teams.
  • Ability to convert strategy into actionable delivery.
  • Excellent communication and executive stakeholder management skills.


Preferred Experience

  • Worked previously with IT consulting, enterprise services, or product companies.
  • Exposure to US higher-education tech ecosystem and compliance environment.
  • Experience running 24/7 service operations, SOC/NOC, or managed IT services.
  • Project Management certifications (PMP, Prince2, Scrum)
  • Cloud & Security certifications (Azure/AWS, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CEH, ISO auditor, etc.)
