Role: Chief Manager Employee Relations / Industrial Relations
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced HR leader to drive Industrial Relations, Statutory Compliance, and HR Business Partnering for multiple manufacturing plants. The role requires strong experience in unionized environments, long-term settlements, labour law compliance, and plant HR operations, with the ability to partner closely with manufacturing leadership to ensure industrial harmony and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Industrial Relations & Employee Relations
- Lead IR strategy across manufacturing plants
- Manage union relationships and handle negotiations
- Lead wage settlements, LTS, and productivity agreements
- Maintain industrial harmony across locations
- Identify and mitigate IR risks proactively
Statutory Compliance & Labour Law Governance
- Ensure compliance with central & state labour laws
- Manage statutory licenses, returns, and inspections
- Handle labour authority interactions and audits
- Drive compliance governance across plants
HR Business Partnering Manufacturing
- Act as HRBP for Plant Heads & Operations leaders
- Drive manpower planning & workforce optimization
- Support productivity, multi-skilling, and capability building
- Lead succession planning for plant roles
Discipline, Grievance & Dispute Management
- Handle disciplinary actions & domestic enquiries
- Manage grievance redressal systems
- Represent organization in labour disputes & conciliation
Contract Labour Management
- Oversee contract labour deployment
- Ensure vendor statutory compliance
- Drive ethical labour practices
Legal & External Liaison
- Coordinate labour litigation with legal counsel
- Liaison with labour departments & government authorities
- Manage labour court / legal cases
Leadership & Team Development
- Mentor Plant HR / ER teams
- Standardize HR & IR processes across locations
- Build strong ER and compliance capability
Candidate Profile
- 18+ years of experience in IR / ER / Plant HR
- Must have experience in unionized manufacturing setup
- Strong exposure to LTS / Wage Negotiation / Labour Laws
- Experience handling multi-plant HR operations
- Experience dealing with labour courts & government authorities
- Qualification: MBA / MSW / MLS
- Preferred: LLB
