Director of Engineering – Platform (Diversity hiring)

We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering Platform to lead the strategy, modernization, and scale of a core enterprise platform for a global, product-led technology organization.

This role is ideal for a senior engineering leader who combines architectural depth with people leadership, and can drive cloud-native transformation while building high-performing, globally distributed teams. You will own the platform vision, accelerate innovation, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient systems that power critical business capabilities.

What Youll Do

• Own and evolve a mission-critical, Java-based microservices platform
• Define and execute platform engineering strategy aligned with product and business objectives
• Drive cloud-native, API-first, multi-tenant SaaS architecture and modernization initiatives
• Partner with Product leadership to create and deliver long-term technology roadmaps
• Lead, mentor, and scale globally distributed engineering teams, including managers and pod leads
• Establish a culture of engineering excellence, quality, and continuous improvement
• Champion GenAI adoption across the SDLC to enhance productivity and speed to market
• Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security across the platform
• Enable seamless ERP and enterprise integrations to support business data flows
• Oversee secure and scalable B2B API capabilities for partners and customers
• Manage engineering budgets, capacity planning, and resource optimization
• Drive the transition from regional silos to unified global teams
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, QA, Sales, and stakeholders

What Were Looking For

• 15+ years of software engineering experience
• 6+ years leading engineering teams at scale
• Proven success building and scaling large, distributed systems
• Strong expertise in Java and microservices-based architectures
• Deep experience with cloud-native platforms (AWS preferred)
• Hands-on knowledge of APIs, integration frameworks, and DevOps practices
• Experience leading platform modernization and reducing technical debt
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and organizational leadership skills
• Comfortable operating in Agile and DevOps environments
