Job Description
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Director of Finance & Operations in India to oversee both India and US Finance and operations functions . This role will lead financial planning, external accounting management, resource utilization analysis, vendor management, and operational coordination. The individual will manage the existing FP&A and Operations team.
Location: Bangalore (with Coordination Across India & US Operations)
Key Responsibilities:
US Finance & Accounting:
- Oversee bookkeeping and financial records , coordinating with an external US accounting firm.
- Oversee invoicing, accounts receivable, and approval coordination for US vendor invoices .
- Manage bank account monitoring, cash flow analysis, and vendor payments .
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A) .
- Manage financial reports and US tax coordination (income tax, estimated tax payments, 1099s, 409A valuations, etc.).
India Finance and Operations:
- Supervise and support the India FP&A and Operations team in financial planning, reporting, and analysis including the following:
- Oversee external accounting and bookkeeping firms in India.
- Coordinate resource management for the India team via analysis of time sheets, actual vs. expected resource utilization, and future demand .
- Conduct project profitability analysis and compare.
- Coordinate invoice approvals .
- Collaborate with India HR to oversee benefits administration
Strategic & Growth Initiatives:
- Provide Review/approval of pricing strategy/price sheet and client-specific pricing
- Provide financial insights and reporting to leadership to drive strategic decision-making.
- Support external fundraising and exit strategy initiatives , as needed, providing financial analysis and documentation support.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial and operational efficiency.
US HR & Payroll Coordination:
- Oversee payroll processing in coordination with US HR representative and external payroll administrator.
- Oversee benefits administration and onboarding/offboarding processes in coordination with US HR representative.
Operations & Administration:
- Manage insurance renewals and compliance (Workers Comp, General Liability, Cyber/Professional Liability for US; relevant insurance for India).
- Oversee IT procurement, vendor management, and office management support for India and US teams .
Legal & Compliance Support:
- Independently review and manage customer and vendor contracts, coordinating external counsel review as needed.
- Support corporate filings, board documentation, and compliance reporting.
- Assist in US and India regulatory compliance and audits as needed.
Qualifications:
- 15-18 years of experience in finance, accounting, and operations within a multinational or tech-focused organization.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A .
- Experience managing external accounting/bookkeeping firms .
- Familiarity with resource management, project profitability analysis, and vendor coordination .
- Experience working with US finance operations is a strong advantage.
- Ability to lead and mentor finance team members in India .
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills .
- Ability to take accountability and work independently with minimal guidance.
- Prior experience in at a growth company and in the software or professional services industry, is a plus.
