Role Overview
As a Director Engineering in our Automotive Business Unit, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of Automotive technology-oriented products/services to our clients. You will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and OEM/clients to ensure that our solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and with the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage multiple IT projects within the automotive sector, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client expectations.
- Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and guide project teams, including project managers, developers, and business analysts, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve delivery processes, leveraging best practices and industry standards to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that all deliverables meet the company's quality standards and client requirements. Wherever applicable, ensure that deliverables are in compliance with ISO26262 (Functional Safety), ISO21434 (Cybersecurity) and ASPICE standards/guidelines.
- Reporting: Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and issues. Develop strategies to drive profitability and revenue goals for Automotive BU.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the automotive industry.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale IT projects in a service-based environment.
- Strong understanding of automotive industry trends and technologies.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Desired Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Automotive Verification and Validation using tools such as HIL set-up.
- Manage a strong technical team of minimum of 50+ engineers to drive development/validation across various automotive domains like ADAS, Digital Cockpit, Vehicle Body, Infotainment, Motion, Electrification etc
- Manage, lead and scheduled delopment/validation delivery timelines in alignment with ECU program timelines.
- Drive operational efficiency KPIs across the team to achieve better validation coverage, early detection of SW defects i.e. Left Shift paradigm, reduce dependency on prototype vehicle / fleet vehicles validation to reduce warranty costs.
