About the Role

We are looking for a Executive Director to lead large-scale Data Governance and Data Management initiatives within a complex, global financial services environment. This role requires a strong blend of strategic execution, data domain expertise, leadership, and stakeholder management .

You will be responsible for driving enterprise-level data governance programs, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with business strategy, risk, and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Data Governance delivery across business and enterprise functions
• Define, implement, and mature Data Governance frameworks, policies, and standards
• Own the Data Governance roadmap , including Data Quality, Controls, and Compliance initiatives
• Establish and run a control tower for tracking data control testing and remediation
• Drive execution of enterprise-wide data management programs with moderate to high complexity
• Partner with senior business, technology, risk, and compliance stakeholders to ensure alignment
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure no surprises execution
• Manage budgets, resource planning, and capacity forecasting
• Lead, develop, and mentor high-performing teams, including matrixed and cross-location teams
• Define KPIs, metrics, and reporting to measure outcomes and drive continuous improvement

• Strong ownership mindset with delivery accountability

Technology & Tools (Exposure Required)

• Data governance and data management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Oracle, AB Initio)
• Big Data platforms and cloud-based data ecosystems
• Exposure to modern data trends including automation, analytics, and Gen AI (governance context)

Operational Excellence

• Budgeting, cost management, and resource optimization
• Metrics, dashboards, and performance measurement
• Continuous improvement using Lean / Six Sigma methodologies

Qualifications

• 18+ years of experience in Business Execution, Data Management, Data Governance, or Program Leadership
• 10+ years of people management or leadership experience
• Bachelors degree required; Postgraduate degree preferred
• Experience within banking or large financial services organizations is strongly preferred
• Exposure to global delivery or in-house captive environments supporting US or global stakeholders is a plus
