Direct Tax Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Direct Tax Manager to lead and manage end-to-end income tax compliance and advisory for the organization. The role involves handling tax assessments, litigation support, regulatory coordination, and driving process improvements while working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Tax Compliance & Advisory

Lead and supervise income tax compliance for the group, ensuring timely and accurate filings

Manage income tax assessments, notices, appeals, and litigation, including coordination with external consultants

Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on business operations

Prepare and present monthly Direct Tax MIS/trackers for senior management and Audit Committee

Financial & Process Oversight

Oversee periodic financial closing, including review/preparation of P&L, Balance Sheet, and related financial reports

Drive process improvements and draft/revise SOPs to enhance efficiency and control in tax and accounting processes

Stakeholder & Regulatory Management

Liaise with statutory auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure full compliance

Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support cross-functional and cross-border initiatives

GST Compliance (Added Advantage)

Supervise filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C)

Perform GST ITC reconciliation with GSTR-2A/2B and books of accounts

Reconcile GST payable and receivable accounts with filed returns

Skills And Attributes

To qualify for the role, you must have

Qualification

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)

Experience

• 4+ years of experience Post completion of CA.
• Strong exposure to tax assessments, litigation, and compliance
• Working knowledge of GST is an added advantage
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
