Job Description
Position Overview:
- MediaTek is seeking an experienced Diagnostics Lead to drive the development, implementation, and validation of advanced diagnostic systems for automotive platforms. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in automotive diagnostics, with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering robust solutions across the vehicle lifecycle. This leadership role requires deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong collaboration skills.
- Define and drive the overall diagnostic strategy for automotive platforms, ensuring alignment with industry standards (OBD-II, UDS, CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and safety regulations (ISO 26262).
- Guide the development and implementation of diagnostic software for embedded ECUs and central computers, leveraging expertise in C, C++, Python, and modern automotive architectures.
- Ensure rigorous testing and validation of diagnostic solutions using virtual simulation (HIL/SIL) and physical vehicle setups, driving high standards of accuracy and reliability.
- Root Cause Analysis, Problem Resolution and documentation for diagnostic procedures, test results, and technical findings.
Technical Skillset:
- 8+ years of experience in automotive diagnostics, with significant leadership responsibilities.
- Deep knowledge of vehicle communication protocols: CAN, CAN FD, DoIP, UDS, J1939.
- Expertise in Autosar Diag modules - DEM, DCM, FIM, CoM Stack, etc and exposure to diagnostic authoring tools (OTX Studio, ODX Studio, BDX, Grade-X).
- Proficiency in analyzer and simulation tools (Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, ETAS).
- Advanced programming skills in Python, C, and C++. Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
- Experience in Hypervisors, Virtual Machines (VMs), driver development, system SW on automotive cockpit and ADAS platforms.
Additional skills:
- The idle candidate might have demonstrated ability to work with engineers/partners/customers across different geographies, ownership of large-scale SoC SW product development and customer support. Demonstrated experience working with senior management in a corporate environment. Hands-on technical lead who is not hesitant to dig into the details where needed to get first-hand knowledge of the issues and play an active and personal role in steering team success.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of diagnostic content, including complex test sequences and troubleshooting workflows for systems such as engine management, ADAS, electric/hybrid systems, brake control, and infotainment.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary diagnostics team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Exposure to one or more of below technology areas is a plus:
- Multiprocessor Architecture, ARM processors, Virtualization technologies across CPU and MM hardware accelerators
- Experience in Compute Systems, Vision, Radar, Lidar, and other sensor-based perception, prediction, path planning and control & execution systems.
- AV System simulation experience and understanding of automotive AD/ADAS software, algorithm design experience is a plus.
- Multimedia(Audio, Video, Camera, Display & Graphics)/Embedded application and/or driver development on one or more of Linux/QNX/RTOS/Android platforms
