Job Description:

Purpose of the Job:

Responsible for defining, developing, and executing a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) automated process for AGC-Black Boxs KVM and AV products.

Primarily Roles & Responsibilities

As a DevOps Engineer your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

Creation, maintenance and retirement of Virtual Machines for developers

Maintain and enhance R&D tools and infrastructure such as VMWare, NAS, lab network operations and access rights, etc.

Work with the development Engineers both locally and in Ireland, to design and implement automated solutions with CD Pipelines for infrastructure and software build, deployment, and configuration.

Own the build system and processes for the local development organization.

Build and maintain tools, scripts, and processes that make our developers and testers more efficient. Build DevOps solutions using the latest technologies and tools

Maintain version control repositories and related systems supporting initiatives around Infrastructure as code

Scripting languages to build automated solutions.

Evaluate, recommend, and implement new automation opportunities.

Evangelize and advocate best practice with regard to automated highly integrated build systems.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities

Experience with deploying and configuring modern CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Gitlabs etc)

Have implemented and maintained a multi pipeline CI project that tightly integrates with source code control (SVN, git) and Jira

Previous experience of working with Embedded Devices

Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi, deploying, cloning virtual machines, building VM templates.

Linux/UNIX development skills

Solid scripting skills (shell, Python)

Good understanding of Makefiles and tools like CMake, Autoconf etc

Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to operate independently

Excellent communication and influencing skills.

Highly Desirable to have:

Knowledge of Buildroot or Yocto

Chef for configuration management

Containerization technologies including Kubernetes and Docker

Good understanding of networking.
