DevOps Architect

Job Title: DevOps Associate Solutions Architect

Experience: 5-7 Years

Location: Bangalore

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Architecture

1. Design end-to-end AWS architectures for enterprise-scale workloads across domains (e.g., migration, data, DevOps, security, analytics).
2. Design end-to-end DevOps and CI/CD architectures for cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
3. Define reference architectures, blueprints, and best practices for DevOps adoption.
4. Architect secure, scalable pipelines for:
5. Source control
6. Build & test
7. Artifact management
8. Deployment & release automation
9. Create detailed High Level Design/Low Level Design, reference architectures, and solution blueprints aligned with AWS Well-Architected Framework and DevOps best practices.
10. Design high-availability, DR, and backup strategies for DevOps platforms
11. Evaluate and select appropriate AWS services based on requirements for compute, storage, database, networking, and security.

DevOps Platforms & Tooling

1. Architect and govern platforms involving:
2. Git-based SCM (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)
3. CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
4. Artifact repositories (JFrog, Nexus)
5. Containers & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
6. Define branching, merging, versioning, and release strategies
7. Establish governance models for multi-team, multi-repo environments

Reliability, Performance & Observability

1. Design logging, monitoring, and alerting architectures
2. Enable SRE practices: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets
3. Guide teams on performance tuning and capacity planning
4. Lead root cause analysis for critical production incidents

Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement

1. Partner with sales/account teams during discovery to understand business and technical requirements.
2. Lead technical discussions and whiteboard sessions with clients to position AWS/DevOps-based solutions.
3. Respond to RFPs/RFIs with detailed technical responses and effort estimations.
4. Build and deliver technical demos, PoCs, and solution presentations to stakeholders.

Implementation Oversight

1. Work with delivery teams to ensure solution from design to implementation.
2. Support migration planning, cloud-native re-architecture, and automation using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Security & DevSecOps

1. Recommend and implement security best practices including IAM, KMS, VPC design, and compliance frameworks (ISO, HIPAA, etc.)
2. Contribute to policy and governance models for multi-account AWS environments (Control Tower, SCPs, etc.)
3. Embed security into CI/CD pipelines (SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets scanning)
4. Define DevSecOps standards and compliance controls
5. Architect secure access models, secrets management, and policy enforcement
6. Collaborate with InfoSec and audit teams

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

1. Stay current on AWS service releases, Devops tools & solutions and industry trends to propose innovative solutions.
2. Mentor senior/junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Must-Have:

1. 8 to 10 years total experience, with at least 7 - 8 years in DevOps architecture & solutioning and 2+ years in AWS & DevOps pre-sales roles.
2. Strong hands-on experience in designing and deploying AWS & DevOps solutions at scale.
3. Deep knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, Route53, CloudWatch).
4. Proven success in customer-facing pre-sales or consulting roles.
5. Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
6. Experience with cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization techniques.
7. Container and microservices architecture design
8. Expertise in DevOps practices and tools
9. Hands on experience in implementing and managing monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana.
10. Expertise on Linux architecture solutions and diagnosis
11. Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python)
12. Configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet). Anyone. Ansible preferred.

Nice-to-Have:

1. Exposure to data engineering tools on AWS (Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lake Formation).
2. Experience in hybrid cloud integrations and AWS Direct Connect, VPN, etc.
3. AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification
