Job Description Social Development Specialist (Position2)
Project Authority: Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation
Funding Agency: World Bank
Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and support socio-economic surveys and need assessment studies
- Assist in planning and implementation of training and capacity-building programmes
- Support livelihood analysis and implementation of skill development and vocational training activities
- Assist in preparation and implementation of Gender Action Plan
- Support activities related to RCH/MCH and community health awareness
- Facilitate community consultations and participatory planning processes
- Coordinate with AMC, local agencies, NGOs, and community institutions
- Monitor field activities and assist in preparation of progress reports
- Ensure compliance with World Bank guidelines and project requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate degree in Social Sciences or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of overall work experience , including at least 2 years in rural development projects
- Sound understanding of socio-economic surveys, training & capacity building, and need assessment processes
- Experience in livelihood analysis, skill development, and vocational training programmes
- Experience in Gender Action Plan implementation and RCH/MCH activities
- Strong participatory management skills
- Proficiency in Gujarati, Hindi, and English
