Development Manager

This role will develop a clear strategy & plan to consolidate all digital assets in the company and execute digital transformation and enhancements programs by providing deliveries from a developers community in technologies ranging from .NET, SQL, Java, Oracle, REACT, Angular JS, Android, iOS. The leader will need to be adaptable but also work within the SDLC framework as well as having clearly defined needs from the business to meet the timelines dictated and complete within budgets allocated and quoted.

Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities

Strategic Focus

• Lead IT & Development Strategy: Define and execute the IT and software development strategy to align with company goals.
• Lead individual development teams focusing on internal & third-party apps for full life cycle
• Build and lead squads for web, front end, integration and back-end development across software, products, and platforms
• Lead and execute IT strategy with a balanced focus on development and management.

Operational Management

• Establish robust and advance frameworks for API and Microservices development
• Collaborate and Assist DSF (Digital Service Framework) teams on providing them core applications services and changes as and when required
• Assist Head of SDLC for Corporate Markets, India in running overall technology operations by providing strategic, operational and management information inputs and ideas
• Managing all the activities of the software development team and setting goals for each team member to ensure timely project delivery
• Implement a SDLC best practice to deliver speed to market needs for the CM business
• Alongside the Head of SDLC, build roadmaps, delivery plans and resource loading views
• Manage escalations and incidents around applications with effective & efficient process and tools to minimize business downtime and operational / financial losses
• Takes full ownership and support changes from development to Live
• Working with Solution Architects, BAs, Testing Teams, Environment Manager, Project Managers, Support, Release and Business stakeholders.

People Leadership

• Managing a workforce and structure in the SDLC community
• Providing guidance to the team and ensuring they adhere to development standards
• Work with and manage third parties and vendors for development activities
• Build modern development techniques and best practices like hackathons and co-creation
• Conducting performance evaluations and career development discussions

Governance & Risk

• Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
• Ensure key performance indicators are measured, analysed, and accurately reported to stakeholders for incidents of all priorities
• Work with the management team to ensure best practice is followed as well as one way-same way globally.

Experience & Personal Attributes

• Experience: 15+ years leadership experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies
• Technical Skills: Excellent experience in .NET technologies and Experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies, project management.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative approach to cross-functional projects.
• Strategic Leadership: Proven track record of aligning IT with business goals and driving innovation across multiple entities.
• Sound judgment, logical thinking and ability to define and manage scope
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, promotes a quality control culture
