Role Overview: As a Development Engineer (Grinding), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the achievement of cost, quality, and compliance targets for production standards. You’ll be responsible for grinding manufacturing in Product Development Projects (PDP), developing production processes, and ensuring product quality and productivity. Additionally, you’ll contribute to continuous improvements across local and global production units.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for grinding manufacturing in PDP projects. Develop and decide on production processes and methods. Make sure that product requirements are met in terms of quality and productivity for grinding.
- Participate as a resource in Product Development Projects (PDP) to implement new products for Coromant.
- Contribute with knowledge and experience and perform production support.
- Develop/Purchase technology and production equipment within grinding manufacturing.
- Create and revise directives and instructions within grinding manufacturing.
- Lead and participate in projects (MIP) to implement new technology in the area of Insert Production
- Develop manufacturing and production processes that are reliable, cost-effective, and support the organization's short and long-term business objectives.
- Drive and contribute toward improvements to increase productivity, quality and cost of equipment, processes, work and best practice.
- Contribute with input from production in Product Development Projects.
- Responsible to provide production support
- Control and ensure that production schedules are met of the assigned production process.
- Revise and implement new method/process/products and equipment in production
- Create and revise directives and instructions within area of expertise.
- Responsible for investments/purchase and implementation of equipment/system in production in the grinding area.
Your Profile: We’re looking for someone with the following qualifications and skills:
Education and Experience:
- Masters/ Ph.D. in Engineering / MS in Design and Product Development
- 2 - 5 years of experience in product development in engineering /manufacturing industry.
- Experience in Machine Investment Projects (MIP).
- Surface Grinding, Profile Grinding & Periphery Grinding for Complex Geometries with measuring techniques
- Experience in Machine Investment Projects (MIP).

Technical and Behavioural Competence:
- Machine-specific competence in grinding area machines.
- Competence regarding consumables and processes in the grinding area.
- Software-specific skills (e.g., SAP, GSSII, Office 365, SAP, Antura, IAR Power Apps).
- Experience in managing projects structured in various models, particularly those similar to stage gate processes such as PDP, KDP, MIP or relevant project models
- Project management skills.
- Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations, familiarity with relevant technologies and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and systems.
- Willingness to engage in practical, hands-on work, including running trials and conducting investigations in production settings.
- Project Management skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and collaborate with production teams and contribute to problem-solving and improvements on the shop floor.
- Attention to detail when conducting trials and investigations to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Knowledge of way of working at other PU´s and ability to communicate and cooperate globally.
