Mahila Housing Trust (MHT) is committed to building secure housing and resilient living environments for poor women and girls. At the core of MHTs mission is the belief that technology must be at the forefront of social changewhether in gathering critical information to understand urban challenges or in applying innovative solutions to mitigate and adapt to climate risks.

MHTs programs address essential civic and housing infrastructure needs, including water, sanitation, drainage, solid waste management, roads, electricity/energy, low-income housing, and secured land tenure. By leveraging data-driven insights, spatial analysis, and digital tools, MHT facilitates access to financial, legal, and technical services in housing, water, sanitation, and energy sectors. This technology-enabled approach ensures that interventions are not only community-driven but also scalable and evidence-based, ultimately improving the quality of lives and livelihoods of underprivileged women.

MHT is implementing multiple Climate Resilience Initiatives to address the growing challenges of urban heat, climate risk, and vulnerability in low-income communities. These projects combine spatial analysis, community-driven data collection, and evidence-based advocacy to design solutions that strengthen resilience and improve living conditions for marginalized populations.

The Development Associate will play a key role in supporting MHTs climate resilience initiative through project management, reporting, and representation. Responsibilities include:

1. Report Drafting & Documentation : Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and presentations on project progress, findings, and outcomes for donors, partners, and stakeholders.
2. Conference & Representation : Represent MHT at conferences, workshops, and forums, effectively communicating the organizations work and impact.
3. Project Management Support : Assist in planning, monitoring, and coordinating project activities to ensure timely delivery of outputs.
4. Stakeholder Engagement : Liaise with partner organizations, government agencies, and community groups to strengthen collaboration and advocacy.
5. Knowledge Management : Conduct literature reviews, compile secondary data, and contribute to knowledge products that highlight MHTs climate resilience work.
6. Capacity Building Support : Work with internal teams to develop training materials and support workshops for staff and community leaders.
7. Continuous Learning : Stay updated on emerging trends in climate resilience, urban planning, and development practice to inform MHTs strategies.

Requirements:

1. Educational Background : MBA (Development/Management) or Masters in Urban Planning, Urban Development, or related field.
2. Experience : Minimum 3 years of professional experience in project management, development practice, or urban/climate resilience initiatives.
3. Skills :

• Strong report writing and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities in English and Hindi (knowledge of Gujarati is an advantage).
• Ability to coordinate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with urban development, climate resilience, or social sector projects.
