Role Summary: The Desktop Tester will report into the Desktop Testing Lead, and be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of desktop environments through rigorous testing of various software packages and policies. This role will focus on SCCM, Intune, and Munki packages, as well as Intune policies, loadsets, Autopilot builds, Nexthink remote action scripts, and Windows Update for Business (WUfB) quality and feature updates. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of desktop management tools and methodologies, ensuring that all systems meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Essential Functions of the Role:
• Conduct comprehensive testing of SCCM, Intune, and Munki packages to ensure proper deployment and functionality.
• Evaluate and validate Intune policies and loadsets for compliance with organizational standards.
• Test and verify Autopilot builds to ensure seamless user experience and system performance.
• Execute and assess Nexthink remote action scripts for effectiveness and reliability.
• Monitor and evaluate Windows Update for Business (WUfB) quality and feature updates, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users.
• Document test cases, results, and defects, providing clear and actionable feedback to development teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues related to desktop environments.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in desktop testing and management.
• Conduct Mercury Testing for MST based on test cases and requirements from the team
• Prepare and delivery test summary reports to requesters and other stakeholders
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
• Proficient in SCCM, Intune, and Munki package management.
• Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and desktop management.
• Familiarity with Autopilot and its configuration processes.
• Knowledge of Nexthink and its remote action capabilities.
• Understanding of Windows Update for Business (WUfB) processes and policies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in desktop testing or a related role.
• Proven experience with SCCM, Intune, and Munki package testing.
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages is a plus.
Soft Skills:
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and quality assurance.
