| Locations : Bangalore/Kochi/Pune/Kolkata Role Summary: The Desktop Deployments Lead will oversee the desktop deployments team, responsible for leading three critical sub-functions: application packaging, desktop desking, and deployment services (release management) and software distribution. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong technical background in packaging software applications using SCCM, Intune, or Munki, as well as expertise in managing deployments and ensuring the quality of desktop environments. The ideal candidate will drive efficiency and effectiveness in the deployment process while mentoring and guiding team members. Essential Functions of the Role: • Lead and manage the application packaging, desktop desking, and deployment services teams to ensure successful software distribution and deployment. • Oversee the packaging of software applications in SCCM, Intune, or Munki using PowerShell Studio and Advanced Installer. • Ensure thorough testing of SCCM, Intune, and Munki packages, as well as Intune policies, loadsets, Autopilot builds, and Nexthink remote action scripts. • Manage the Windows Update for Business (WUfB) quality and feature updates to maintain optimal desktop performance. • Coordinate and schedule deployments, including submitting change requests and generating reports on deployment status and outcomes. • Target and manage software packages from SCCM, Intune, or Munki, ensuring compliance with organizational standards. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve deployment-related issues. • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in desktop deployments and implement improvements as necessary. Knowledge and Skills Requirements: • Strong leadership skills with a focus on motivating high-performing teams • Extensive knowledge of application packaging and deployment in SCCM, Intune, and Munki. • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and desktop management. • Familiarity with Autopilot and its configuration processes. • Knowledge of Nexthink and its remote action capabilities. • Understanding of Windows Update for Business (WUfB) processes and policies. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in desktop deployments or a related role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position. • Proven experience with SCCM, Intune, and Munki application packaging and deployment. • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages is a plus. Soft Skills: • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a collaborative environment. • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes. • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simult aneously. • Proactive approach to problem-solving and quality assurance. |
