Position Overview:-

The Assistant Manager Bridal Couture Design will support the creative and executional aspects of the bridal couture collections. This role requires strong design sensibility, in-depth knowledge of Indian bridal wear, draping, textiles, embroidery, and couture construction, along with the ability to translate creative concepts into production-ready designs while maintaining the brands signature luxury standards.

Key Responsibilities:-

1.Design Development

• Assist in conceptualizing and developing bridal couture designs in line with the brands design language.
• Translate design briefs into detailed sketches, technical drawings, and mood boards.
• Support the Creative Head / Design Head in seasonal bridal collections and bespoke couture pieces.

2.Draping & Silhouette Development

• Develop and refine silhouettes through hands-on draping on mannequins.
• Experiment with traditional Indian drapes and modern couture constructions.
• Finalize fits, proportions, and styling details for bridal ensembles.

3.Textiles, Embroidery & Surface Development

• Work closely with embroidery, textile, and craft teams to develop motifs, placements, and techniques.
• Select fabrics, trims, embellishments, and color palettes suitable for bridal couture.
• Monitor sampling and ensure design intent is executed accurately.

4.Sampling & Production Coordination

• Oversee sample development from design to final proto and sales samples.
• Coordinate with production, pattern masters, karigars, and sourcing teams for timely execution.
• Conduct fittings and provide clear corrections for pattern, embroidery, and construction.

5.Bespoke Bridal Orders

• Support customization and bespoke bridal requirements as per client briefs.
• Ensure couture standards are maintained across individual bridal orders.
• Track timelines and deliverables for made-to-order bridal pieces.

6.Documentation & Process Management

• Prepare detailed tech packs, measurement charts, embroidery layouts, and costing inputs.
• Maintain design archives, swatches, and reference libraries.
• Ensure design handovers to production are clear and complete.

Desired Profile

Experience

• 56 years of hands-on experience in bridal couture design with reputed luxury designer brands.
• Strong exposure to Indian bridal wear, couture construction, and bespoke processes.

Technical & Design Skills

• Advanced knowledge of draping, pattern understanding, and garment construction.
• Strong understanding of fabrics, embroidery techniques, and surface ornamentation.
• Ability to balance creativity with feasibility and timelines.

Software Skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Ability to create detailed flats, embroidery layouts, and presentations.
• Working knowledge of CAD tools is an added advantage.

Education

• Graduate in Fashion Design from a Tier 1 fashion institute (preferred).
