It is one of the fastest-growing companies in this category and deals primarily in lighting (bulbs, LEDs, interior/exterior lighting, etc.) and wiring, and is now entering switches, MCBs, and more. The company is rapidly expanding and aims for pan-India presence.

Role Overview

Sturlite is looking for an experienced Manager Lighting Design to lead and strengthen the design and application team. The role will be responsible for managing end-to-end lighting design projects, guiding the team, ensuring compliance with standards, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver optimized and visually comfortable lighting solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop the lighting design team
• Review and approve lighting layouts, calculations, and simulations
• Allocate resources and manage team workload effectively
• Drive performance, productivity, and capability building within the team
• Establish design best practices and standardization

Lighting Design & Engineering

• Oversee lighting designs using DIALux / DIALux evo, Relux, AGi32, and AutoCAD
• Validate calculations for lux levels, luminance, uniformity, UGR, spacing, and glare control
• Ensure correct interpretation of IES / LDT photometric files
• Guide selection of beam angles and light distributions
• Ensure proper application of Coefficient of Utilization (CU) concepts

Application Expertise

• Lead lighting solutions for:
• Office spaces
• Retail environments
• Warehouse & industrial facilities
• Road & street lighting
• Flood & sports lighting
• Ensure control of spill light, glare, and obtrusive light

Standards & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to IS / BIS, IEC, EN, and CIE standards
• Drive energy-efficient and sustainable design practices
• Review designs for safety and regulatory compliance

Lighting Controls & Smart Solutions

• Guide implementation of DALI / DALI-2, 010V dimming, and DMX systems
• Define zoning logic and scene-setting strategies
• Support smart and connected lighting initiatives

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Partner with sales, projects, and site teams for pre-sales and execution support
• Interface with consultants, architects, and key clients
• Support value engineering while maintaining design intent
• Lead technical presentations and design reviews
• Manage project timelines and design deliverables

Desired Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in professional and architectural lighting design
• Proven team handling and project management experience
• Advanced proficiency in DIALux evo, Relux, AGi32, AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of lighting controls and dimming systems
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to balance technical compliance with aesthetics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability

Educational Qualification

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, Architecture, or related discipline
• Masters degree or relevant certification (preferred)
