Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and driven Design Manager to lead our furniture design team, bridging the gap between creative concepts and factory production.

The ideal candidate has over 1012 years of experience in furniture design/interior fit-outs and a proven track record of executing projects from concept to site handover.

You will be responsible for creating production-ready drawings, managing the design lifecycle, ensuring manufacturing feasibility, and optimizing costs through value engineering.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Leadership & Development

• Lead the detailed design development of modular furniture systems, custom millwork, loose furniture (FF&E:Furniture Fixture & Equipment), and retail fixtures.
• Translate conceptual designs into manufacturable products, ensuring aesthetic integrity while adhering to material constraints.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed shop drawings, including joinery methods, hardware specifications, and material specifications.
• Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize production costs without compromising quality.

2. Production & Manufacturing Coordination

• Collaborate with factory production teams to ensure design feasibility, specifically concerning machinery capabilities.
• Review and approve shop drawings, prototypes, and material samples.
• Develop BOM (Bill of Materials) and material specifications for procurement.

3. Project Management & Execution

• Manage end-to-end design lifecycles, from initial client brief to final installation/site handover.
• Ensure timely delivery of drawings and designs as per project schedules.
• Supervise site installation when necessary to ensure quality and alignment with original designs.

4. Team Management & Mentorship

• Lead and guide a team of junior designers and draftsmen with an "execution-first" approach.
• Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for design documentation and drafting.

Mandatory Experience & Skills

• Experience:1012 years of relevant experience in furniture design, custom millwork, or interior design-build firms.
• Technical Skills:Deep knowledge of furniture materials (plywood, MDF, solid wood), finishes (veneer, laminates), metal finishes,powder coat,electroplating ,paint ,hardware systems, and joinery.
• Software:Proficiency in Solid Works(Mandatory) ,AutoCAD (Mandatory), SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Production Knowledge:Hands-on experience with CNC machining, panel saws, and edge-banding processes is strongly preferred.
• Communication:Excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate between clients, design teams, and factory floor staff.

Qualifications

• Candidates with a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering /Masters Degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, and relevant design experience are highly desirable.

Preferred Background

• Experience in Retail Fixture Design & Allied Furniture manufacturing
• Previous role in a manufacturing-led or factory-integrated design environment.

Role Description

This is a full-time LEADERSHIP ROLE & an on-site position that is based in Greater Noida.

As a Design Manager, you will oversee and lead the end-to-end design process for all Retail fixtures & Allied Furniture.

Responsibilities include researching trends, materials and alternatives to be recommended to our esteemed clientle, prototyping ,developing innovative concepts, liaising with manufacturers, and ensuring the aesthetic and functional quality of products.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and production, to maintain brand identity and uphold quality standards.

Additionally, you will mentor junior designers and ensure timely project delivery to meet customer expectations.

Other Prerequisites:

• Expertise in Retail Fixtures ,Product Design, Interior Design & Furniture Design, with a strong portfolio showcasing design proficiency
• Proficiency in design software such as Solid Works,AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience with vendor coordination, quality assurance, and production processes
• Strong understanding engineering and production.
• Project management and leadership skills to oversee design teams and drive timely deliverables
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
