Design Engineer

PVInsight is looking for Design Engineer- BESS

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Electrical design of battery-based energy storage systems and know-how on PCS, BMS, EMS and SCADA designs.

2. Familiarity with applicable codes, standards and regulations in USA.

3. Due diligence and owners engineer experience where you take the lead to review technical documents and installations to determine their compliance.

4. Knowledge on fundamental aspects and main characteristics of current battery technologies and relate them to battery parameters.

5. Prepare FAT and integration test plan for BESS systems. Technical review of documents provided by vendors.

6. Project management of bids and projects throughout their life cycle.

Perform electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures

7. Attend training sessions on equipment as provided by the manufacturer and approved by manager.

Major Requirements:

1. Total Experience is min 3+yrs in BESS.

2. A bachelors or masters degree in Electrical Engineering, or a relevant engineering field.

3. Candidates completed Ph.D. in similar lines are also welcome.

Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.

4. Electrical knowledge/training experience of at least three years in BESS.

5. Must have good organization, communication, analytical, planning, time management and customer service skills.

6. Competent skills using Microsoft office software like Outlook, Excel, Word.

7. Client management, team management and process management skills.

8. Know-how on other electrical and PV softwares is an added advantage.

Battery storage Manager/Senior manager

1. Experience with Grid scale PV and BESS projects

2. Knowledge on Solar, Battery technologies , Power conditioning systems, EMS & SCADA design

3. Battery sizing calculation to meet performance parameters, selection and sizing of Power conditioning unit

4. Review of Single line diagrams, Auxiliary transformer sizing, Cable sizing, Overall BESS layout , cable routing and trench layouts, Earthing, Lighting and lightning protection ,

5. Review of Technical specification, design basis report, Bill of material (BOM), Cable schedule

6. Review of BESS and BOP (Balance of plant ) equipment drawings provided by vendor

7. Experience with Autocad, Cymecap, CDEGS engineering softwares

8. Lead and manage engineering team, design engineers and drafters

9. Coordination with internal and external stakeholders

10. Knowledge of utility grid interconnection standards IEEE/UL/NFPA/NEC
