Design Engineer

Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in SolidWorks and Sheet Metal design. The role involves designing automotive and trailer components, supporting manufacturing, and coordinating with clients and cross-functional teams. The candidate must hold a valid B1/B2 visa and be open to international travel when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop sheet metal parts, weldments, and assemblies using SolidWorks
• Create 2D manufacturing drawings with proper dimensions and tolerances
• Apply GD&T (ASME/ISO standards) to ensure manufacturability and quality
• Develop BOMs, fabrication drawings, and technical documents
• Support prototype development, testing, and design validation
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams for feasibility and improvements
• Work on Automotive and Trailer components such as chassis, body, and structural parts
• Support onsite/client requirements as needed

Required Skills & Experience:

• 4+ years of experience in Mechanical / Design Engineering
• Strong expertise in SolidWorks
• Hands-on experience in Sheet Metal design
• Good working knowledge of GD&T standards
• Understanding of fabrication, welding, bending, and machining processes
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple design tasks

Domain Experience:

• Experience in Automotive and Trailer design projects
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing standards and practices

Mandatory Requirements:

• Valid B1 / B2 Visa (Mandatory)
• Willingness to travel internationally/on-site based on project needs

Good to Have:

• Experience with PLM/PDM tools
• Client interaction or onsite coordination experience
• Exposure to prototype build and validation activities
