About the Role

We are seeking a Deputy Vice President Regulatory (Operations & Compliance Core) who will lead and strengthen the organisations regulatory governance and compliance framework across all business segments. This role will be responsible for ensuring end-to-end regulatory adherence across Equity, Derivatives, Currency, Commodity, and Depository segments, while proactively managing inspections, audits, and risk controls. The position requires deep expertise in broking operations, regulatory interpretation, and enterprise compliance management.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Regulatory Leadership
• Lead regulatory governance framework across all trading and DP segments
• Interpret regulatory circulars and translate them into operational SOPs
• Provide advisory support to senior leadership on regulatory risk exposure
• Drive proactive compliance monitoring and preventive control mechanisms

• Operations & Compliance Oversight
• Ensure end-to-end supervision of compliance across:
• Client onboarding (KYC, CKYC, AML, PMLA compliance)
• Margin framework (Peak margin, ELM, VAR, MTM reporting)
• Pledge / Re-pledge mechanisms
• Funds & securities reconciliation (Client & Proprietary segregation)
• Enhanced Supervision monitoring
• Trade surveillance coordination
• Investor grievance redressal
• Dormant account monitoring
• Algorithmic & API trading compliance (if applicable)

• Regulatory Reporting & Filings
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of all regulatory reports
• Oversee margin reporting, enhanced supervision reporting, and client funding disclosures
• Supervise internal audit, system audit, and cyber security compliance submissions
• Validate and certify regulatory MIS prior to submission

• Inspection & Audit Management
• Lead SEBI, Exchange, and Depository inspections end-to-end
• Interface with regulators during onsite/offsite inspections
• Manage forensic audits and special regulatory reviews
• Ensure timely closure of audit observations
• Maintain audit-ready documentation repository

• Risk & Control Strengthening
• Design and implement operational and compliance risk frameworks
• Conduct periodic compliance health checks
• Identify systemic gaps and implement preventive controls
• Drive automation in compliance reporting processes
• Develop compliance dashboards for leadership review

• Stakeholder & Leadership Management
• Partner with Risk, Technology, Finance, RMS, and Business teams
• Present compliance updates to Board / Risk Committee
• Mentor and develop compliance managers
• Conduct regulatory training programs for operations teams

Qualifications

• 1518 years of experience in Stock Broking / Capital Markets compliance & operations
• Strong command over SEBI and Exchange regulatory framework
• Deep understanding of broking operational workflows
• Proven experience handling regulatory inspections and audits
• Strong analytical, documentation, and governance skills
• High ethical standards and regulatory sensitivity
• Ability to influence and collaborate across functions

Required Skills

• CA / CS / MBA (Finance) / LLB preferred
• Mandatory NISM certifications as applicable
• Additional certifications in Risk / Compliance preferred

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a large retail/ discount broking firm
• Exposure to high-frequency/algorithmic trading compliance
• Strong knowledge of RMS systems & back-office platforms
• Experience handling multi-exchange membership structures
