Deputy Manager - Procurement & Supply Chain (Chennai Based)

***Must Have Experience in SAP - MM from Steel or Manufacturing Industry

Role Objective

To lead strategic sourcing and procurement execution for assigned material groups, services, and projects. Developstrong vendor management, cost optimization, and SAP-driven processes, ensuringtimelysupply, cost competitiveness, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute sourcingofassigned material groups, services(contracts andlogistics), and projects.
• Conduct market researchonalternate sourceand new vendor development
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate, andfinalizesuppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and risk.
• Manage supplier relationships, Annual Rate Contracts (ARCs), and JIT delivery models.
• Drive cost optimization through negotiation,value engineering , and alternate sourcing.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery, and service issues.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, SOPs, audits, and statutory requirements.
• Manage stock movement, transfers, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Project procurement and project reviews fortimelyexecution.
• Execute end-to-end procurement processes in SAP (ECC / S/4HANA MM).
• Generate MIS, savings reports, and contribute to ERP automation and digital initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education:BE /B.Tech(Electrical, Mechanical, or equivalent).
• Experience:5+ years in procurement or supply chain, preferably in steel or manufacturing industries.
• ERP:3+ years hands-on experience in SAP MM (ECC / S/4HANA).
