About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Deputy Manager - Legal to lead and strengthen our legal and compliance functions. This role will act as a trusted legal advisor to senior leadership, manage complex legal matters, and support business objectives through proactive legal guidance and effective risk mitigation. You will also play a key role in building robust legal processes and driving compliance across the organisation.
What You Will Do
- Act as a strategic legal partner to senior leadership and internal stakeholders
- Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and operational matters
- Identify legal risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts and legal documentation
- Develop and maintain standard legal templates and best practices
- Ensure organizational compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Monitor regulatory changes and support compliance readiness
- Oversee dispute resolution and coordinate with external legal counsel
- Support corporate governance, policies, and internal controls
- Mentor junior team members and improve legal processes and practices
What Were Looking For
- Bachelors degree in Law (LLB); LLM or equivalent is a plus
- 6-8+ years of experience in corporate legal, compliance, or related roles
- Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and regulatory law
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities
- Business-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
Nice to Have
- Experience in FinTech/other regulated industries/E-Commerce
- Exposure to corporate governance, risk, or compliance frameworks
- Experience working with regulators or external legal counsels or law firms.
