US Strategy & Technology Deputy Manager (USI)
We are looking for a professional with 8+ years of experience in Technology strategy and/or business consulting to be part of the US Strategy & Technology team in India. The US S&T team helps in setting the long-term direction for Deloitte, its businesses, and enabling areas by applying an integrated, strategic approach to complex, high-impact issues and opportunities. The team uses advanced techniques to identify and analyze emerging business and technological trends that are affecting our firm and our clients. We seek to educate our clients and equip our firm to understand and act on the implications of the trends we identify. The candidate should be self-motivated, technology savvy, and able to work well with a diverse set of professionals across India and the US.
The team
The S&T group shapes Deloittes long-term direction by bringing together strategy, technology insight, and data-driven analysis. We scan the market for emerging business and technology trends, quantify their impact, and translate our findings into actionable guidance for Deloittes businesses, enabling areas, and clients. By applying an integrated, cross- functional approach to high-impact issues, we help leadership anticipate disruption, prioritize investments, and build competitive advantage.
Work youll do
As a Deputy Manager in the US S&T team in US India (USI), you would work on projects that are typically high-impact, high-visibility work aligned to develop or support Deloitte firm leaderships strategic priorities. Projects often involve collaboration across workstreams to ensure coordination and alignment. The professional will need to frame or refine hypotheses, analyze a large volume of quantitative and qualitative data, and communicate (verbal and written) executive-audience-ready insights, trends, and next steps, as appropriate.
Your other responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage projects end-to-end with minimal supervisionincluding planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients across US/India, fostering strong working relationships and driving project success.
- Analyze complex project data and synthesize large data sets to develop actionable insights, crafting clear, compelling reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver high-quality project outputssuch as executive briefs, presentations, and comprehensive reportsensuring logical structure, persuasive storytelling, and meaningful recommendations.
- Mentor and guide team members to uphold high standards of quality and accuracy, sharing expertise on work organization, communication, and best practices.
- Contribute innovative ideas and solutions in brainstorming sessions, aligning outcomes with client needs and firm objectives.
- Knowledge of one or more major technology domainse.g., Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, core consulting skills, including analytical thinking, research (primary and secondary), advanced PowerPoint and Excel proficiency, and concise, structured communication, with the ability to leverage technology expertise to develop strategic insights and deliver client-focused recommendations.
Education and/or experience
- MBA from a reputed school
- At least 8 years of work experience, including at least five years in consulting/tech strategy or a similar function; client consulting experience in the technology space will be preferred, with a demonstrable track record of delivering technology-driven
- Knowledge of one or more major technology domains e.g., Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, Cyber, plus familiarity with how these domains reshape business models, digital operating platforms, and competitive landscapes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills; outstanding analytical, research, and presentation skills, including the ability to size technology opportunities, quantify ROI, and translate technical findings into clear business implications.
- Good data-visualization skills and ability to present data analysis in intuitive graphical and tabular formats, with an emphasis on communicating technology performance indicators, adoption metrics, and risk profiles.
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint; experience in using GenAI tools will be an advantage, particularly for rapid exploratory analysis, content generation, or prototype development in tech-strategy deliverables.
- High degree of comfort working in an unstructured environment requires solving complex, open-ended issues with incomplete data and little direction, often involving emerging technologies and evolving digital ecosystems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present complex ideas succinctly to senior executives, effectively bridging technical detail and strategic impact for C-suite audiences.
- Exposure to working in virtual teams and experience working with US clients. Since the job requires significant coordination with US colleagues, the ability to network with US counterparts is important, alongside awareness of US technology-market dynamics and regulatory considerations.
