Role Overview
The Deputy Manager - Growth Analytics will be a key driver of data-led growth for Tata CLiQ. This role will partner closely with Growth, Marketing, Product, Category, and Tech teams to identify growth opportunities, improve customer acquisition and retention, optimize funnels, and influence strategic decisions through deep analytical insights.
This is a high-impact role working closely with the CEOs office.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical rigor, business acumen, and hands-on execution, with experience in consumer or e-commerce environments.
Key Responsibilities
Growth & Business Analytics
- Own end-to-end analytics for customer growth, including acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization.
- Analyse customer journeys across web/app funnels to identify drop-offs and growth levers.
- Develop cohort analyses (new vs repeat users, frequency, lifecycle stages) to inform growth strategies.
- Partner with Growth and Marketing teams to evaluate performance of campaigns across channels (paid, organic, CRM).
Experimentation & Optimization
- Design and analyse A/B and multivariate experiments across product, pricing, promotions, and UX.
- Define success metrics, analyse results, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Drive a culture of experimentation and data-backed decision-making.
Performance Measurement & Reporting
- Define and track core growth KPIs such as CAC, LTV, conversion rates, repeat rate, retention, and contribution margins.
- Build and maintain dashboards for leadership visibility (daily/weekly/monthly).
- Conduct deep dives on performance deviations and emerging trends.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Tech, Marketing, Category, and Supply teams to embed analytics into decision workflows.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, concise, and impactful manner.
- Act as a thought partner to business teams, not just a reporting function.
Data & Analytics Excellence
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across sources.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to improve data pipelines, event tracking, and analytics infrastructure.
- Mentor junior analysts and help set best practices for analysis and storytelling.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 58 years of experience in analytics / business intelligence / growth analytics, preferably in e-commerce, retail, or fashion/lifestyle.
- Education - MBA / CA with analytics specialization / BTech for analytical rigour.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SQL; experience with Python/R is a plus.
- Experience with analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
- Solid understanding of growth metrics, funnels, cohort analysis, and experimentation frameworks.
- Proven ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
